# 8.5 Bedienung

## 8.5.1 Modustaste

Die Modustaste wird primär dazu genutzt, bei einer kurzen Betätigung den aktuellen Modus zwischen Automatik, Manuell und Urlaub umzuschalten. Eine weitere Funktion ist das Zurücksetzen des Geräts auf Werkseinstellungen. Dies wird durch einen doppelten langen Tastendruck erreicht, sofern die Funktion nicht durch den Parameter `ID_HARDWARE_LOCK` gesperrt ist. Wird die Modustaste während des Einlegens der Batterien betätigt, dient sie außerdem zum Starten des Firmware-Update-Modus.

## 8.5.2 Tastensperre

Über den Downlink [`SET HARDWARE LOCK (0xF6)`](/dnt-lw-wth/kommunikationsprotokoll/8.-konfigurationsubersicht-und-reset.md) können bestimmte Interaktionen am Gerät abgeschaltet werden. Sind sämtliche Sperren gesetzt, wird dies im Display mittels Schloss-Symbol angezeigt. Anderenfalls wird dieses kurzzeitig sichtbar, wenn eine gesperrte Funktion genutzt wird.
